Book Review: Cat Wisdom by Neil Somerville

cat-wisdom, neil-somerville, book

Many a domestic cat leads a good life. Pampered, well-fed and often the centre of much attention, the cat is skilful in getting its own way.

In this fascinating and fun book, you can discover many of the cats’ secrets, which you too can use to great effect.

Discover how to...

  • Make the most of chances
  • Create a good impression
  • Be more persuasive
  • Make better use of strengths
  • As well as get more pleasure out of your day... and life.

This cute little book was a thoughtful gift from one of my colleagues when we adopted our beautiful cat Winnie back in September (don't worry - I'll be sharing a post all about that before the end of the year!) and is one I've been dipping in and out of ever since.

I find it quite refreshing to read a non-fiction book every once in a while and for me, this book was perfect for that!

Ideal for cat lovers and cat owners alike, Cat Wisdom shares sixty true-to-life lessons that our feline friends can teach us. Ranging from the importance of getting a good night's sleep to dealing with stress, there is plenty to be learned from this slim volume.

Cat Wisdom takes facets of the cat's behaviour before analysing them and applying them to elements of our own human lives. We are always looking for new ways to improve and better ourselves and our lives; Cat Wisdom suggests that all we should do to discover a more rewarding life is to listen to what our cats can teach us.

Featuring brief snippets and bite-size chunks of text, this is an ideal book for picking up and putting down, whether you are constantly on the go or just leading a hectic lifestyle. Each lesson is short, snappy and to the point, giving you all the information you need in the space of just one page.

Similarly, each lesson is accompanied by a quote or short poem, breathing life into the book and adding multiple opinions. The graphics and illustrations which adorn the book from cover to cover are also well placed to make it more visually appealing as well as perfectly describing the unique personality and individual mannerisms of the cat.

A fun little read, Cat Wisdom would make the ideal stocking filler for a cat lover this Christmas.

Cat Wisdom is available to buy now.

  1. I'll admit I'm not a big fan of cats myself, more of a dog person but this book does look rather sweet! Thank you for sharing with #readwithme
